Lifelines is a solo show by Maria McDonald consisting of work she has made post-grad.
The work focuses on the dichotomy between past and present and how patterns in nature reiterate that. She uses various brushstrokes, pastels, and gradients to depict emotions and ideas of grief, love, pain and connection. She uses her own lived experiences and being fully present in the now as inspiration.

The Inspiration
Real life is what inspires me. Going on walks, light shining through the trees, small rocks and patterns, and small moments with loved ones that end up meaning everything is what goes into my paintings. It really is the little things.
