Biography
Maria McDonald is an oil painter who has a studio in Canton, Ohio and a BFA from Kent State University. She creates abstract paintings that reflect her view of the world she sees around her and the emotions she feels while navigating life. She takes inspiration from small and large motifs in nature. From tall trees to tiny rocks, she finds repeating patterns and colors to pull from. How light interacts with nature is a huge inspiration to her and she mixes light patterns with other natural patterns she finds. She doesn’t confine herself to any one style and creates paintings that range from landscapes to portraits to abstract work.
